Maybe you have an active lifestyle, maybe you are recovering from an injury, maybe you have a very physically demanding job and often find your shoulders are tense and sore, or you are standing on your feet all day long and your low back is achy. Then this is the salve for you.
This recipe for a soothing salve for sore muscles is so easy to make. It’s just 3 base ingredients and 4 essential oils!
Buying these ingredients in bulk is more of a cost upfront than buying an individual sore muscle salve would be, but you can make so many batches out of these ingredients and you know EXACTLY what is in them. No more wondering what the ingredients with 30 letters are.
This is also a fantastic gift for friends or family or spouse. These are easy to make, and you can get so many batches out of these ingredients. Make them, put them in cute containers and pop on a cute label (such as the FREE) printable labels below and give them as stocking stuffers or extra small gifts on the side to beef up your present.
Let’s get right into it!
Lavender: Since Lavender is an adaptogen it can assist the body in adapting to different stressors or imbalances. This makes it a fantastic oil for relaxing. It is also frequently used to sooth small cuts, bruises, and skin irritations because of it’s anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-septic properties.
Black Pepper: A little bit of this oil goes a LONG freaking way. So, do not overdo this one. It’s useful for soothing sore and achy muscles and this is the oil that will give the warming sensation.
Peppermint: It can often relieve inflammation because of it’s analgesic properties. This is a really strong oil, so dilute, dilute, dilute! With this oil’s analgesic properties it is known to relieve inflammation. But it’s a strong oil, so make sure to dilute!
Eucalyptus (Globulus)*: This oil will help provide the cooling sensation, and is often used to soothe sore and tense muscles.
